Wanted Nancy Man arrested during traffic stop

According To Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Nancy, KY. man has been arrested for drug trafficking after a vehicle traffic stop.
On September 3, 2024, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputies Derek Dennis, Brad Tucker and Allen Cash were assigned to conduct a drug interdiction patrol on East Kentucky Highway 90. At approximately 10 pm Deputy Dennis observed a vehicle traveling westward that appeared to be a vehicle that fled from him back in April. After that incident Deputy Dennis obtained an arrest warrant for the driver on several charges including 2 felonies. Deputy Tucker was able to get behind the vehicle and obtained a registration check of the vehicles license plate. The registration check showed the vehicle was the same one that fled from Deputy Dennis in April. Once Deputy Dennis caught up to Deputy Tucker and the vehicle, Deputy Tucker passed the vehicle placing him in front of and Deputy Dennis behind the vehicle to deter the driver from fleeing. Once Deputy Dennis active his emergency equipment, the vehicle pulled off onto the shoulder of the highway. Due to the vehicle fleeing before and after previously receiving information that the suspect would be armed the Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop. As instructed a female driver exited the vehicle first. A male passenger was handcuffed while setting in the passenger side front seat. Laying by his feet was a loaded .32 caliber handgun. Deputy Cash arrived on scene and assisted the other Deputies with a search of the vehicle. This search resulted in 2 baggies of a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, a package of psilocybin gummies, several new plastic baggies, digital scales with drug residue, 2 smoking pipes, several money cards with different names on them and $1,148.00 in cash and the handgun being seized.
