(WDRB+WAVE) — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear was in Louisville teaching Sunday school at a local church and provided an update on a possible presidential run.
Beshear visited St. Stephen Baptist Church as a special guest teacher for its Men’s Day Sunday School Class.
While at the event, Beshear spoke about a possible presidential run and his recent book, “Go and Do Likewise: How We Heal a Broken Country.”
During an interview with WDRB anchor Gilbert Corsey, he was asked about the book and how it reads almost like a cover letter for the highest office in the country.
When asked directly whether he was running for president, Beshear hinted that it might be in the cards.
“I still remember in 2023, you know, that race, though, it’s the biggest win I’ve ever had,” he said. “It was hard. It was nasty. And I remember walking off the stage, looking at my wife and saying, ‘Whoo, I’ll never have to run for anything ever again.’ Here’s what I’ll say today. I’m not sure that’s true any longer.”
Despite his answer, Beshear made it clear that he has not made a final decision about a potential presidential run and is continuing to focus on Kentucky.
He previously said he would not make any announcements of that nature until after the midterm elections.
