Judge hears arguments in perjury case of former Bardstown police officer Nick Houck

 (WAVE/WKYT) – A judge listened to arguments Friday morning in the perjury case of former Bardstown Police Officer Nick Houck, who is charged in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of Crystal Rogers.

Houck’s defense attorneys are asking the judge to compel prosecutors to release specific details of the allegations against him.

While defense counsel has requested clarification on which Grand Jury responses warranted the charges, prosecutors contend Houck lied under oath when questioned about Rogers’ disappearance.

According to court documents, the alleged perjury occurred between July 15, 2015, and Aug. 16, 2023—a timeline beginning shortly after Rogers vanished and ending just before his brother, Brooks Houck, was indicted.

In response to the defense’s request, the Commonwealth directed counsel to previously disclosed discovery materials already sent to Houck, which include Grand Jury recordings from June 3, 2026, and a PowerPoint presentation delivered to that Grand Jury.

Houck appeared in court but the hearing ended quickly after Houck’s defense noted that they had been provided information by the Commonwealth.
