Joyce Lee Gibson, age 88 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at her home.
Joyce was born on January 12, 1938 to the late Gabe Tucker and Melvina Morrow Tucker in Ritner, Kentucky.
She was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church and was saved in 1955. She loved sewing and knitting. She married her husband, James, in the fall of 1977.
Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James Gibson, son-in-law Andrew Poff, brother-in-law Reed Hicks.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Vivian Poff of Somerset; brother RL Tucker (Martha) of Monticello, Ky; sisters Mona Hicks of Alpha, Ky and Lenia Savage (Elza) of Monticello, Ky.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 5pm-8pm in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 11am at the funeral home with Bro. Dillard Guffey officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Kidder, Kentucky.
