(WKYT) — The president of the Kentucky Farm Bureau is raising concerns about the Trump Administration’s plan to increase beef imports.
President Donald Trump announced that his administration will allow more beef to be temporarily imported into the U.S. without triggering higher tariffs.

Kentucky Farm Bureau President Eddie Melton said this plan comes at a “challenging time” for Kentucky cattle producers who are working to rebuild their herds.
“While we support efforts to lower grocery costs,” Melton said, “greater reliance on foreign beef could hurt American farmers and create long-term consequences for consumers.”
Melton said the bureau encourages the administration to reconsider its approach.
