Monticello City Council to Meet

The Monticello City Council is set to take up several items when it meets Monday, August 10, 2026, 6:00pm at City Hall. According to the official agenda, council members will review and approve minutes from four previous meetings and enter an executive session to discuss a personnel matter.

The meeting will feature updates from multiple departments, including Police, Fire, Tourism, Code Enforcement, Utilities, Street Department, Parks & Recreation, and the IDA, along with a report from the city clerk.

Two significant ordinances are scheduled for action: the first reading of the 2026–0810 budget ordinance and the second reading of a measure to abolish the city’s restaurant tax.
