I-75 crash involving 2 semi-trucks cleared, 1 driver taken to hospital

(WKYT) – A crash involving two semi-trucks on I-75 in Scott County left a driver with minor injuries and shut down 2 southbound lanes for multiple hours.

Michael Hennigan, the director of emergency management for Scott County, said a tractor trailer had stopped on the side of the road after breaking down earlier when a second semi-truck veered off the road, hitting the stopped vehicle around 11 p.m. Monday, July 27.

The truck that broke down was unoccupied at the time of the crash, Hennigan said, and the driver of the other semi-truck sustained minor injuries.

Hennigan urged people to be as careful as possible when driving, and that when there is something stopped on the side of the road to move over.

The scene of the crash has since cleared.
