The Monticello Police Department is proud to welcome Officer Valis Smedley to our team.Officer Smedley was officially sworn in by Mayor Kenny Catron. Prior to joining the Monticello Police Department, he served with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for just over five years, where he gained valuable law enforcement experience serving the citizens of Wayne County. In addition to his law enforcement background, Officer Smedley brings more than 20 years of military service, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to serving others.
