(WKYT) – Kentucky Utilities has suspended service disconnections due to high temperatures.
Kentucky Utilities spokesperson Daniel Lowry encouraged customers struggling with their bills to contact the company directly.
“If folks are struggling to pay their bill, anytime, not just during hot weather or cold weather, if you’re having trouble with your bill, give us a call — we’re going to work with you, we have programs available to help you get assistance, we have the budget payment plan to help you even out your bill,” Lowry said.
Lowry said customers can take several steps to reduce their energy costs:
- Keep blinds down;
- Set ceiling fans to spin counter-clockwise;
- Maintain your HVAC system.
