(WKYT) – A Kentucky man being held at a federal prison in South Carolina died on Friday.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 45-year-old Harold Nolan was found unresponsive at Federal Correctional Institution Edgefield at 11:40 a.m.
Prison employees performed life-saving measures on Nolan, but he was later pronounced deceased at a hospital.
Nolan, who was from Laurel County, was serving an 180-month sentence for the distribution of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexual conduct. He had been in prison since March.
No employees or other prisoners were injured, and there was no threat to the public at any time.
There has not been any information released on what may have caused Nolan’s death.
