(WBKO/WKYT) – United Way of Southern Kentucky held its annual allocations conference this afternoon, announcing investments for next year’s funding cycle.
Leaders said, more than $1 million was awarded to partner organizations focused on education, income, health and safety across several counties.
Debbie Hills, President and CEO of United Way Southern Kentucky, said the event marks the end of a yearlong process and the start of impact. “Our work is all about improving the fabric of the community and the lives of people in the community,” said Hills.
In Warren County alone, just under $642,000 is being awarded to 27 partner programs, with organizers emphasizing the goal is lasting change for people in need.
Funds were awarded to programs classified under four different categories- education, income, health, and safety net. Education received the most funding with just under $358,000 awarded.
These investments will begin July 1st, 2026, and go through June 30, 2027.
Programs that receive funding were chosen by 94 volunteers working across 10 counties in Southern Kentucky.
