For the first time, Kentucky will welcome the 17th Annual High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship, set for June 23–27, 2026 on Lake Cumberland. The dual‑event tournament, organized by the Student Angler Federation and The Bass Federation, will award nearly $1 million in scholarships and prizes — all with no entry fees.
Around 500 student anglers from across the country are expected to compete, with daily launches between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. and weigh‑ins from noon to 6 p.m. at the Russell County Jaycees Fairgrounds. The event is supported by the Lake Cumberland Tourist Commission and Team Kentucky, marking a major milestone for the region’s growing reputation as a premier fishing destination.
