(WKYT) – The fourth annual Caleb Conley softball tournament took place to honor fallen Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Caleb Conley.
Deputy Conley was killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop in 2022.
Saturday, 65 teams from across Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana took to the fields at two Georgetown parks.
Jesse Martin, the tournament’s director, said the event was started for Deputy Conley’s family.
“When I did this four years ago it was just something that I wanted to do for the family,” Martin said. “I got their blessing before I did and I get that every year before I put that out for USSSA.”
Martin said all proceeds from the tournament go to the Conley Foundation, which supports first responders.
A vendor fair was held Saturday at Marshall Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fair welcomed more than 20 vendors offering baked goods, crafts, face painting and made-to-order t-shirts.
