According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Monticello, KY. man has been arrested on multiple charges including assaulting law enforcement.
On June 3, 2026, at approximately 2:35 pm, were attempting to serve a Court Order on the man at his residence located on Auction Street. Deputies James Barnett, Joe Horne, Sheriff Catron with the assistance of Monticello Police Officer Jake Thomas negotiated with the man for several minutes to have him exit his residence. After negotiations failed with the man force had to use to make entry. After law enforcement made entry into the residence the man continued to resisted arrest and was physically taking under control and placed under arrest at approximately 3:08 pm.
Do the man’s irate state of mind he was taken to the Wayne County Hospital for a medical clearance. After receiving the medical clearance Deputy Barnett transported and lodged Richard Price of Monticello, KY. in the Wayne County Detention Center on the charges of 2 counts of assault-3rd degree-on Police Officer, resisting arrest, menacing, obstructing a governmental operation, disorderly conduct-2nd degree, and criminal mischief-2nd degree
