(WKYT) – The Kentucky Board of Nursing warned the public about a scam call that is disguising its contact information as numbers from real agencies.
The caller is reportedly telling people that their license is under investigation or that they missed a court date, according to KBN, and may use publicly available information, such as prior addresses or license numbers.
KBN reminded people that when they conduct an investigation, they never notify a person over the phone, instead mailing a written notice of complaint.
If someone receives a suspicious phone call, KBN advised people to not provide any information, hang up the call and contact KBN at 502-429-3300 to confirm whether their license is under investigation.
