Information released by the Wayne County Schools announce they will offer free summer meals for children 18 and younger from June 1 through July 31, 2026 (closed June 29–July 3). Families may choose weekly meal boxes—available Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Monticello Elementary—or daily pickup at Lunchbox Express and Cardinal Van stops across the county. A stay‑and‑eat option is also available at Wayne County Middle School, serving breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Parents or guardians must sign children up to participate.
