(WKYT) – Kentucky assistant coach Alvin Brooks III on Saturday said he would not return to Mark Pope’s staff for a third season.
Brooks, taking to social media, thanked the head coach, athletics director Mitch Barnhart and UK President Eli Capilouto on his way out.
“Grateful to Coach Pope, AD Mitch Barnhart, and President Dr. Capilouto for the opportunity to be part of the Kentucky family,” Brooks wrote. “My family and I truly enjoyed our time in Lexington. We trust God’s plan and look forward to what’s next.”
Brooks is the second assistant to announce his departure from UK — Jason Hart was hired at SMU earlier this week.
