Sheriff Bobby Jones report a Pulaski County man is in custody on a federal indictment arrest.
Timothy Buis, age 58, of Somerset was arrested on Tuesday on a traffic stop conducted by Officer’s Matthew Hines and James Sizemore, of the Somerset Police Department. Buis was arrested on a federal indictment and charging him with Possession with Intent to Distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.
The indictment was a result of an investigation that was began by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division. The incident began when the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office began receiving complaints stating a male named Tim Buis was trafficking in large quantities of methamphetamine on Louis Waddle Road in Science Hill. Detectives began conducting surveillance in the area, gathering enough probable cause to apply for a search warrant for the residence.
Detectives with the Narcotics Division and Deputies with the Patrol Division converged on the Louis Waddle Road residence. Deputies approached the residence and executed the search warrant. Once inside of the residence, Deputies located Timothy Buis, age 56, in the kitchen area of the trailer. Buis was taken into custody and removed from the residence.
Deputies began searching the residence and located illegal contraband inside of the trailer. In a bedroom in the residence, Deputies located approximately 203.9 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 421.8 grams of marijuana, approximately 20.3 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms), approximately 27.2 grams of cocaine, Xanax, Testosterone, digital scales, baggies, and various drug paraphernalia. Also located inside of the room was identifying documents for Timothy Buis.
The Narcotics Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigations Southeastern Kentucky Drug Task Force continued the investigation into Buis and his suppliers. In 2025, Buis was indicted on the charges and has absconded, until Tuesday when located by the Somerset Police Department.
