Suspect sought after Weekend Burglary

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron at approximately 4:04 am on March 7, 2026, Deputy Zachary Bybee responded to the Cumberland Green Valero Convenient Store located on East Highway 90 after being dispatched by the Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center for a burglary complaint. The store was entered by one masked male individual by breaking out a front door glass and attempted to take an ATM machine. However, he was unsuccessful in doing so. The male then grabbed several cartons of cigarettes before exiting the store. The same individual or individuals drove east on Highway 90 to a Shell Convenient Store located in Bronston, KY. The same individual attempted to enter that store but was scared off by a store employee that was getting ready to open the business. The vehicle then traveled back on Highway 90 towards Wayne County.
