(WYMT) – A person was found dead inside a vehicle following a fire in Laurel County on March 4.
East Bernstadt Fire & Rescue was dispatched at 2:57 p.m. by the London-Laurel County 911 Center to a vehicle fire with a possible trapped occupant on L Gabbard Road near the Laurel-Rockcastle County line.
A bystander who called in the fire said they could not reach the vehicle due to fire conditions.
Firefighters arriving on scene confirmed entrapment and found the vehicle fully involved. They entered the vehicle and discovered a body.
Officials said no further information or victim identification will be released while a death investigation is ongoing.
Also on scene were Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, and the Laurel County Coroner’s Office.
