Monticello tourism committee met in regular session. It was reported $61,757 was collected from the local restaurant tax this past December. The committee approved spending money for several sponsorships of events that will be upcoming including $10,000 for the WC Country club golf tournament, $2500 for season sponsorship at Monticello Market, & $7,000 casting for kids fishing tournament. The committee discussed Springfest which is coming up in May to be held at Memorial Park and the possible musical acts available to bring in for the event, also there was discussion on creating an adult only area near the stage where alcohol could be sold at the event.
