Gas prices in West Central Kentucky are four cents lower this week, at $2.385 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Nationwide Trends:
As the holiday season is underway, motorists continue to find lower prices at the pump. Over the past week, the national average for a gallon of unleaded has fallen three cents to $2.82. Gas prices have not been this low since December of 2020. Cheaper crude oil prices and increases in supply are contributing to the decrease in gasoline prices. Overall, 2025 has been a stable year for the national average with few fluctuations and no sharp spikes. Today’s national average is 19 cents less than a month ago and 20 cents less than a year ago.
At the close of Friday’s formal trading session, West Texas Intermediate fell $1.61 to settle at $56.74 a barrel. U.S. crude oil inventories are about 4% below the five-year average for this time of year.
The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station stayed the same this past week at 38 cents.

The nation’s top 10 least expensive states for public charging per kilowatt hour are Kansas (26 cents), Wyoming (26 cents), Missouri (28 cents), Nebraska (29 cents), Utah (31 cents), Delaware (31 cents), Vermont (32 cents), Iowa (32 cents), Maryland (33 cents), and New Mexico (34 cents).
