Wednesday shortly after 9 pm, Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff Office were dispatched by the Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center to a residence located off of East Kentucky Highway 92 in the Oil Valley Trailer Park. Upon arrival Deputies located the female at a neighbor’s residence that appeared to be distressed and covered in blood. The female reported to the Deputies that her boyfriend came home intoxicated and started being aggressive towards her while breaking items. The male retrieved a knife from inside the residence and started attempting to stab her. While trying to defend herself from the attack the male stabbed her in her hand. The Deputies made contact with the male outside of the residence where the altercation took place and located a knife near him. Once inside a large amount of blood in a bedroom, a knife-like stabbing damage in a wall and numerous items being broken were found. Wayne County Emergency Medical Service was also dispatched to the scene and after giving treatment transported the female to the Wayne County Hospital Emergency Room.
Deputy Allen Cash charged and arrested Jeremy L. Kempton of Albany, Ky. for assault-2nd degree-domestic violence. Kempton was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Deputy Cash was assisted at the scene by Deputies Nick Bertram and Casy Lang.
The Wayne County Sheriff Office also arrested the following.
Carol S. Baird of London, Ky. was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant of Arrest for theft of identity of another without consent. Baid was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court and a McCreary County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to appear and failure to pay restitution on the underlying charges of giving an officer false identifying information, theft of identity of another without consent and 2 counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition-shoplifting.
Baird was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
