According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County woman has been arrested for abusing two of her children.
On November 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30pm, Deputy Valis Smedley was dispatched by the Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center to the Wayne County Hospital Emergency Room to speak with hospital personnel about two children being abused by their mother. The emergency doctor informed Deputy Smedley that the 2 children had multiple injuries to their bodies including what was believed at that time to be possible membrane tissue damage inside both children’s ears. During the hospitals staff treatment the Doctor ordered a CT scan on both children with those results determining if the children would needed be transferred to the University of Kentucky Children Hospital for further treatment. Kentucky Department of Children Protective Service Investigator Alannie Owens was also called to the emergency room and conducted an investigation alongside law enforcement. After reviewing the results of the CT scans it was determined that the children didn’t have any head injuries. Later the children was released by Child Protective Service to their grandmother.
At approximately 12:45 am, on November 11, 2025, Deputy Smedley charged and arrested Kaylee Judd of Monticello, KY. for 2 counts of criminal abuse-1st degree (child 12 years of age or younger) and 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Judd was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Deputy Smedley was also assisted by Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Nick Bertram and Kentucky State Police Trooper Cory Jones with the investigation continuing by all involved agencies.
On November 11, 2025, at approximately 5:30pm, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Nick Bertram was dispatched by the Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center to Frazer Road area of Wayne County for a possible stolen truck Upon his arrival he learned from witnesses that a loaded hay farm truck had been taken and was driven across a couple of fields before coming to a stop. Deputy Betram located a female nearby. Deputy Bertram learned that the female was an ex-girlfriend of the trucks owner which he had not seen in several years.
Deputy Bertram charged and arrested Amber Jones of Monticello, KY. for alcohol intoxication in a public place, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief-2nd degree.
Jones was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Deputy Bertram was assisted by Wayne County Sheriff Office Casey Lang.
Also, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy James Barnett arrested Joseph Reynolds of Monticello, KY. on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for Probation Violation on the underlying charges of probation violation (for felony offense) and flagrant non-support.
Reynolds remained lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
