At 7:39 p.m. Monday, the Monticello Police Department, Monticello Fire Department and Wayne County EMS responded to a one-vehicle crash on Hickory Hill Drive.The preliminary investigation determined that Rhonda Hicks, 59, lost control of her Toyota Spyder resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway, then striking a fence and utility pole before crashing head-on into a tree.
Hicks was transported by Wayne County EMS to the Wayne County Hospital emergency room and later flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing by Officer Brandon Bertram and Officer Jacob Thomas.
