City Council Holds Special Session

The Monticello City council met Monday in special session.  Some of the highlights from the meeting included the first reading of an ordinance relating to street legal – special purpose vehicles.  The ordinance is very similiar to one passed by the county last week.

It was reported that this past July was the highest grossing month for alcohol sales in Wayne County since going wet. Revenue of over $450,000 was reported.  Mayor Catron reported that the restaurant tax enacted has brought in around $52,0000.
