Monticello Fire Department personnel responded to 5 calls for service on Saturday.
#1 At 10:01 AM firefighters responded to a vehicle that had left the roadway, gone over an embankment, and stopped in Elk Slrings Creek. Personnel spent around 3 1/2 hours mitigating the oil in the creek to stop contamination of the waterway.
#2 At 7:21 PM the department responded motor vehicle incident on East Hwy 92.
#3 At 8:55 PM firefighters responded to an illegal burn complaint on Wayne Street. The fire was extinguished.
#4 At 9:26 PM Monticello Wayne County 911 dispatched the department to an illegal burn complaint on Lincoln Avenue. The fire was extinguished.
#5 At 9:52 PM Monticello Fire responded to a small brush fire in Frazer Chapel Road.
