AAA says over 34 million people are expected to travel more than 50 miles from home this Memorial Day weekend, which is a record. Gas prices on average are down from last year across the U.S. the national average is #3.19 per gallon. The Kentucky average is $2.85 for a gallon regular unleaded. As of Thursday afternoon the Wayne County average is $2.94.
The Kentucky State Police is once again participating in the click it or ticket campaign and reminders drivers they will be increasing patrols through the weekend and will maintain a zero tolerance policy for anyone caught driving under the influence.
