Monticello Fire Department was dispatched to 7 calls for service today along with having a regular meeting and completing regular maintenance on equipment.
#1 at 9:58 AM the department was dispatched to an automatic fire alarm. The alarm was cancelled.
#2 at 3:01 PM fire personnel responded to a brush fire on Cedar Bluff Ridge Rd. The fire was contained to less than 1/4 acre.
#3 at 6:35 PM personnel responded to a reported fire in the woods on Overlook Road. No fire was located.
#4 at 6:38 PM the department was dispatched to a fire on Wayne Street. The fire was at another location.
#5 at 6:52 PM firefighters extinguished an open burn that was in violation of the Burn Ban off of Missouri Valley Road.
#6 at 7:44 PM department personnel assisted with wind damage assessment on Conley Street.
#7 at 10:05 PM firefighters responded and extinguished a field fire that was burning off of Hwy 3284. The fire was contained to 1/4 acre.
