(WKYT) – University of Kentucky men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope held his annual Hoops and Heels event Thursday at the university’s historic Memorial Coliseum.
The event gave fans an exclusive look at the basketball program.
Some fans arrived at Memorial Coliseum at 11 a.m. to get in line for a chance to meet the team. The event did not start until 7 p.m.
Two women, Tracy Brown and Lida Hubbard, who attended said it was important to show their support.
“We want the chance to meet the team and let them know that the women of BBN support them and we’re gonna cheer them on all year,” they said said. “All the players, some of them will dance sometimes, dance off, Q&A, just a good time.”
Proceeds from the event went to the Markey Cancer Foundation.
