Man sentenced for murder, abuse of infant son

(WKYT) – A man was sentenced in Lexington on Thursday for the 2024 death and abuse of his infant son.

Amancio Torres-Trevino Jr. was sentenced to 30 years in prison for murder and eight years for criminal abuse. The criminal abuse sentence was split into four years consecutive with the murder sentence and four years concurrent with it for a total of 34 years behind bars.

Trevino previously pled guilty to the charges. His sentencing was delayed earlier this year when he was not transported from jail and delayed again after that.

The infant’s mother, Kaela Wlaker, also faces charges in his death after prosecutors say she witnessed the abuse and failed to report it.
