London City Council passes 2-year data center moratorium

(WKYT) – The London City Council passed a two-year moratorium on data centers within city limits on Monday.

The council passed the moratorium with a 5-1 vote.

It will be in effect until September 30, 2028, and can be extended by the council for a year after that date.

The council says that the moratorium will allow the city to study the impact that a data center might have on the community.

The moratorium was first read at an earlier council meeting.
