Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Pulaski man for trafficking in methamphetamine.
Joshua Denney, 41, of Bronston, was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree – 2 grams or Greater – First Offense, and other offenses.
The arrest was a result of a traffic stop conducted by Detective Tan Hudson after he observed a Dodge Caliber, orange in color, speeding on Highway 70 in Pulaski County.
Following Det. Hudson stopping the vehicle, Deputy Grant Bryant arrived on scene to assist Det. Hudson. Deputy Dylan West arrived a few moments later and deployed K-9 Rocky. K-9 Rocky alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics in the Dodge Caliber.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies located what appeared to be an ordinary box of graham crackers. However, inside the box was not graham crackers, but nearly a pound of suspected methamphetamine packaged inside a plastic bag.
Denney was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center. As of the time of this press release, no bond has yet been set.
Dep. Bryant is continuing the investigation.
