(WKYT) – A man was arrested in connection with a murder in Berea, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to a shots fired call on Baker Lane around 7:54 p.m. on Monday, July 6.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Eddie Matthews, 64, and Jake McClure, 34, were involved in a domestic dispute, and that Matthews was shot.
Matthews was pronounced dead by Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison. He said Matthew’s body would be sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.
McClure was charged with murder and is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
The incident remains under investigation, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
