(WKYT) – A bear was spotted in Mount Vernon.
Holly McClure spotted it near her home in the Rainbow Ridge area.
McClure told WKYT she thought it was a dog at first and said it was her first time seeing a bear in the wild.
“I’d never seen an actual bear besides going to Tennessee and seeing one in exhibits and stuff,” McClure said. “I was excited to see it but also like I said I thought it was a little baby so I was like is there a mom gonna pop out somewhere?”
Officials with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources say if you see a bear, leave it alone and let your neighbors know.
