(WXIX/WKYT) – The family of Alexis “Murray” Foust thanked the community for its support in the days after Foust was reported missing on April 27.
Foust’s family posted a statement on Facebook on May 25, one day after the 22-year-old Northern Kentucky University student was found at 1 Steel Plant Road in Wilder, Kentucky, officials said.
“By now you have likely learned that Alexis ‘Murry’ Foust has been found and is no longer with us,” the statement said.
“While our hearts are broken and this is not the outcome we were hoping for, we can only pray that finding them provides closure and comfort to everyone who is hurting.”
Officials said there were no signs of foul play.
No other details will be released until the Campbell County Coroner’s Office determines an official cause of death, officials said.
Northern Kentucky University released a statement on May 25:
The family said they are setting up an art scholarship in Foust’s name.
“Any donations or proceeds from the sale of Murry’s work will be used to support other art students in the community,” the statement said.

The statement ended, “Thank you again to everyone who came together to support us and lift us up. We pray Alexis ‘Murry’ Foust is at peace.”
