UPDATE
As of 10 AM a search of the Wayne County High School Technology Center has been completed by multiple Deputies, Sheriff Catron and Kentucky State Police Trooper Adam Dodson. This is the building where the threat was found and is believed it was related to this building only. Nothing was found during the search and students are now being returned to the Technology Building. A student has been identified as a suspect that may have made and left the threat and is now being questioning at this time. The investigation is continuing by the school’s staff and Wayne County Sheriff Office School Resource Deputy Jerry Meadows.
Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron wants to notify the public that the Wayne County High School is now being placed in lock down with all students being removed to the High School Gymnasium. This is being done to ensure all students are safe after a note of a bomb threat was found in a class room. The note is believed to have been left in that classroom yesterday but all precautions are being taken at this time. The Wayne County Sheriff Office is now conducting a search of the High School building and has enroute Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Nick Bertram with his K-9 Deputy Chaos which is certified in bomb detection.
