Beshear announces Pre-K for All pilot program in two counties

(WKYT) – Kentucky is launching a Pre-K for All pilot program in Rockcastle and Robertson counties.

Gov. Andy Beshear authorized it through an executive order and announced it on Thursday during his Team Kentucky briefing.

Districts in the pilot program will have to report back to the state.

Beshear has pushed for the program for years and said his goal is to see the program in every county.

“Kentucky’s kids deserve better, so do our families who need childcare and our businesses which need a strong workforce to remain successful,” the governor said.

Beshear said the money for the program came from workforce programs that he says were not being fully maximized.
