(WYMT) – WYMT confirmed with Kentucky State Police that a death investigation is underway after unidentified human remains were found.
The sheriff says the body was found over an embankment off Route 1428 near the mouth of Sugarloaf.
Troopers said investigators have not released the gender of the person found.
Troopers said the body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.
