Highway Safety Improvement Project Beginning This Week in Pulaski County

Highway Safety Improvement Project Beginning This Week in Pulaski County 🚧
Construction is set to begin this week at the intersection of KY 914 and Slate Branch Road (KY 1642) in Pulaski County. This project will build a Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT) intersection designed to improve safety, traffic flow, and capacity.
🚗 What to Expect:
• Intermittent lane closures during construction
• Project completion expected by July 31, 2026
🔄 What is an RCUT?
An RCUT helps reduce crashes and improve traffic movement by changing how left turns and cross-traffic movements are made. Drivers from the side road will turn right first, then use a designated U-turn lane when clear.
✅ Benefits include:
• Better sight distance
• Shorter wait times
• Fewer conflict points and reduced crash risk
