Breeders’ Cup tickets go on sale for Keeneland races

(WKYT) – Tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 21 at noon Eastern Time for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland, set for Oct. 30-31.

Prices range from $85 to several thousand dollars to see the thoroughbred racing event.

“There’s certainly offerings for everyone at different price points and with that you get many different experiences…the one thing everyone will have fun,” said Drew Fleming, president and CEO of Breeders’ Cup.

This will be the Breeders’ Cup’s fourth visit to Keeneland. The last one was in 2022.

“And it’s such a resounding success that our fans from all over the globe were demanding that we come back to Lexington,” Fleming said.

What is the Breeders’ Cup?

Fleming described the event as combining elements of major sporting events.

“So the Breeders’ Cup is the Super Bowl married track and field for the Olympics. These are the elite of the elite. The best horses from around the globe are traveling to Lexington, Kentucky in short order to determine who the best horses are in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships,” Fleming said.

The two-day event will feature 14 races with $34 million in purses and awards. Races will include male and female horses of different ages, sprinting on turf and dirt surfaces.

The event is projected to generate a $125 million economic boost to the central Kentucky region.

“We have fans from all over the world that will be coming to Lexington, Kentucky…they will be utilizing the hotels going to the beautiful restaurants the shops and making an everlasting impact on this region,” Fleming said.

Attendance will be capped at 43,000 per day. Tickets are available at breederscup.com/tickets.
