Autopsy report confirms details in Doug Harless’ shooting death

. (WKYT) – An autopsy report is shedding more light on the death of a Kentucky man shot by police.

Harless was shot and killed in his home by a London police officer in December 2024. Investigators said officers were attempting to serve a search warrant when Harless pulled a gun.

An autopsy report obtained by WKYT confirmed that Harless died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head, neck, torso and extremities.

Harless was shot and killed in his home by a London police officer in December 2024. Investigators said officers were attempting to serve a search warrant when Harless pulled a gun. Dispatch audio obtained by reporters indicates officers may have been at the wrong home. Repeated requests to review the warrant have been denied.

In February, a grand jury declined to indict anyone in Harless’ death.

WKYT has requested more information in the case, including the search warrant. Earlier this month, KSP said those records would not be released until next month.
