(WKYT) – Kentucky is a seven-seed in the Midwest Region and opens NCAA Tournament play in St. Louis against 10-seed Santa Clara on Friday, it was announced on Sunday.
Game time at the Enterprise Center is set for 12:15 p.m. ET on CBS.
The Broncos, making their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 30 years, are coached by former UK assistant Herb Sendek.
Michigan is the No. 1 seed in the Midwest.
The Wildcats (21-13) were bounced from the SEC Tournament on Friday, falling to Florida, 73-61.
Kentucky opens as a -2.5 point favorite in their opener. The Wildcats are making their 63rd NCAA Tournament appearance. UK is 50-12 all-time in NCAA Tournament openers.
Duke is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament.
