(WKYT) – One person was killed in a crash in Mercer County on Monday morning.
The crash involved a pickup truck and a garbage truck, according to the Mercer County Coroner’s Office, and was on Kirkwood Road and 127 Northbound.
One person was pronounced dead, and one was transported to the hospital to be treated for their injuries, according to the coroner’s office.
127 Northbound is closed near the Dollar Store in Salvisa, according to Mercer County Emergency Management, and the fire district said the lanes are expected to be closed “for a long time.”
Mercer County Emergency Management said traffic is being rerouted from Oregon Road to Sugar Street and advised drivers to expect delays.
Kentucky State Police will be reconstructing the collision.
