On March 2, 2026, in cooperation with the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, and the United States Forest Service, Chief Deputy Dustin Ridner applied for and obtained a search warrant. The search warrant was executed in the Stearns community of McCreary County.
During the execution of the warrant, approximately 52 grams of a crystal-like substance, believed to be methamphetamine, were located and seized.
As a result of the investigation, Gary Cooper was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine (over 2 grams).
Assisting on scene were Kentucky State Trooper Dennis, Kentucky State Trooper Reed, Lt. Chris King, and Federal Officer R. Little.
