The Monticello City Council met Monday evening.
The council heard the 2nd reading of an ordinance pertaining to street legal, special purpose vehicles. Much like a county ordinance approved a few weeks ago and based on legislation mandated by the KY General Assembly, the council approved the ordinance 4-0.
The vote to close a portion of Buster Avenue was approved by a tie breaking vote from Mayor Kenny Catron. Councilmember votes were 2-2.
August’s ABC report showed $343,289 in alcohol sales with city fees collected for the city totaling $21,242
Earlier this month $57,000 was received by the new tourism commission via the local restaurant tax.
Halloween Trick or Treat hours were set for the City of Monticello as Friday October 31st, 5-8pm.
The Council was also in a lengthy executive session discussing personnel and litigation matters.
