State of Emergency and Fuel Cost Relief

A state of emergency has been declared to allow Kentucky farmers and truckers to use untaxed, dyed diesel fuel on public roads to help offset rising transportation and fuel costs driven by the war in Iran. The measure aligns with a federal executive order and will remain in effect until the end of the year or the conclusion of the conflict, whichever happens first. Officials previously took steps to freeze the state gas tax and temporarily lower gasoline prices by 10 cents per gallon to provide additional financial relief.
