(WKYT) – A candidate for London City Council has withdrawn from the November election, but his name will remain on the ballot.
Any votes cast for Matthew Allen will not be counted, according to Laurel County Clerk Tony Brown.
According to Brown, under Kentucky law, the county clerk has to provide a notice of the change to precinct election officers.
Those officers must see that the notice is conspicuously displayed at the polling place so voters know of the change, and that votes for Allen will not be counted.
