Laurel Co. fire and rescue crews completed rope rescue training

(WKYT) – Crews from the London Fire Department and London-Laurel Rescue Squad completed intensive training for rope rescues, according to the LFD.

The LFD says crew members worked together to complete several rescue evolutions including the following:

• High-Angle Rescue Operations
• Rope Systems & Anchors
• Raising & Lowering Systems
• Technical Edge & High-Angle Operations
• Victim Packaging & Rescue Movement
• Team-Based Technical Rescue Operations

The course was intended to give crews hands-on experience with teamwork, communication, discipline as well as knowledge in using the required tools under demanding conditions, the LFD says.
