(WKYT) – Kentucky State Police arrested a man for assault of a two-year-old, authorities say.
KSP says they received a call on Aug. 13 from Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital about “serious injuries” on a child who was unresponsive.
The child was flown to UK due to the extent of the injuries and remains there in critical condition.
KSP says they arrested 22-year-old Jack Kelsay as part of an investigation into the child’s injuries, as he was the child’s sole caretaker.
Kelsay is facing charges for first degree assault and first degree criminal abuse of a child under 12.
The investigation is ongoing, according to KSP.
